Fishing Rules

  • Fly only
  • All anglers must pay at the Lodge before entering the fishery.
  • All anglers must be in possession of a valid EA rod license to fish here.
  • Barbless hooks only.
  • Boats MUST be booked in advance (to ensure you are not taking a boat booked out for later in the session).
  • Only 2 persons per boat.
  • No under 16s in a boat unless accompanied by an adult.
  • No dogs or other pets without permission.
  • Show consideration for other fishermen at all times.
  • Do not crowd other anglers.
  • If you must use mobile phones, please do so quietly.
  • Do not discard line. Take all your line and litter home, or put it in the bins provided.
  • The management has the right to inspect any tackle, bags, cars or clothing.
  • The management reserves the right to terminate any ticket, at any time, without refund or explanation.
  • Langley Dam Fishery accepts no liability for any loss, damage, or injury to person, or property, however it arises.
  • Fish may only be taken in accordance with the type of ticket purchased. DO NOT exceed your limit!
  • Please check the notice board for rules regarding the removal of Brown trout (these alter depending on the time of year)

Rod licenses

Anyone over 12 years old is required, by law, to have a valid Environment Agency rod licence to fish on Langley. This is in addition to your day ticket. We can no longer sell rod licences but they are available from the Post Office (nearest P.O. The Co-op, Haydon Bridge) or; over the telephone on 0844 800 5386

It is a condition of fishing at Langley that you are in possession of a valid rod license.
