For those of you who are coming from farther a field and want to spend longer in the area, or just want something for their other half to do whilst they fish, here are some links to surrounding attractions/accommodation and places to eat


Surrounding Area

Langley is on the edge of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, to the south of us is the Allen Valley, to the north Haydon Bridge and the Roman Wall. Within walking distance of the Dam is the Garden Station which offers coffees/teas and light lunches and woodland walks.

Hexham; 8 miles west, market town with supermarkets etc.


There is a good variety of accommodation locally. This includes  B and B's such as the Reading Rooms in Haydon Bridge and self catering cottages (see the Waiting Rooms at Staward) or for something a bit different there is the luxury of Langley Castle.
